The sun’s life

Scientists have identified that the sun has reached roughly half of its life (about 4.6 billion years), that it is currently experiencing a significant level of glow (despite the fact that it is the dimmest it has been for about 100 years ), and that it will in fact completely dim and ‘die’ after about 5 billion years.  The Qur’an has in fact hinted to this: {And placed (therein) a dazzling lamp (i.e. the sun)?} [Al-Naba’, 78:13].   The Arabic word used in this verse for ‘dazzling’ or ‘shining’  suggests that the sun is in a current state of glow.   In other words, there are indeed dimmed or ‘dead’ stars, but the sun is not one of these stars, and this is a miraculous sign in that no human knew of any such attributes to the sun during the time the Holy Qur’an was revealed!
