Scientists have recently discovered that the moon is a cold body. Unlike the sun which is a fiery body.  Therefore, the Glorious Quran used a specified and accurate word for the moon, calling it (light). The sun, however, was described by Allah as (bright). Light is without heat, reflected from the surface of the moon, and the brightness is accompanied with temperature from the sun. Allah stated in Glorious Quran, ‘It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand?’ [Yunus 10:5]. Who was aware during the time when the Quran was revealed that the moon is a cold body? This verse attests to the truthfulness of the Word of Allah, blessed and exalted His name.
