According to the Chinese media, committing suicide is the number one reason for death in China between the ages of 20-35. They also add that around one quarter of a million commit suicide annually. Psychologists say that the major reason for committing suicide is depression and hopelessness. All glory to Allah, the exalted who revealed to us the holy Qur'an which is a healing for this phenomenon; Allah says:

 O ye who believe! sot

Eat not up your property

Among yourselves in vanities:

But let there be amongst you

Traffic and trade

By mutual good-will:

Nor kill (or destroy)

Yourselves: for verily

God hath been to you

Most Merciful!             Nisaa or the Women: 29  

All experts, therefore, assert that the lowest suicide rates ever are in the Islamic countries. All praise to Allah for the grace of Islam.
